Proven Technology, Proven Baseline
ABN AMRO was looking to sharpen its competitive edge with its subsidiary, MoneYou, that offered direct, online banking services under the slogan “geen gedoe” (“no hassle”). MoneYou called upon Sopra Banking Software for the 2008 launch of its savings products in the Netherlands, with expansions into Belgium (2011), Germany (2012) and Austria (2014).
- Quick installation resulted in a short time to market
- One partner for four countries
- Process automation with STP
- SaaS mode cuts down on total operating costs
- Long-term partnership, not a one-off
Online in three months
In 2008, MoneYou.nl decided to pull in more consumers with more attractive interest rates on savings products as well as making it easier for customers to manage their personal finances. For this, MoneYou turned to Sopra Banking Software. All in all, the solution took only three months to come online in MoneYou’s Dutch startup. Partner company Schuberg Philis offered the hardware and expertise to let Sopra Banking for Direct Banks run with their hosting services, further cutting down on unnecessary costs. Straight through processing combined with an easy-to-use self-service interface helped the team provide the security and back-office functionality needed to handle the full array of banking products online.
German, Belgian and Austrian sequel
When MoneYou.de was conceived in 2011, MoneYou called upon Sopra Banking Software once more. “Considering the excellent job they did in 2008, it was clear for us to partner up with them again. We were proven right – in less than five months, the new software platform was completely implemented and ready to go,” says Frank Verkerk, who was CEO at that time. In 2012, Belgium followed suit with MoneYou.be. In 2014, MoneYou decided to setup MoneYou.at. Its operations would be guided from the Netherlands, where Sopra Banking and Schuberg Philis created the Austrian bank’s infrastructure and bank parameters. “Being able to efficiently run our Austrian branch from the Netherlands, with all due legal and cost advantages, is a big plus for us,” says Mrs. Rigter. MoneYou.at went live in September 2014, slightly ahead of schedule.
