Paris, June 28th 2019 – SBS (ex-Sopra Banking Software), global leader in digital banking and financing software announces successful Amplitude roll out at KCB in Kenya.
Mid 2017, KCB Bank Kenya launched a major project with two key targets: create a new offer to provide mobile money and inclusive financial services (savings and loans) and improve the current financial services of co-branded product KCB – Mpesa.
KCB’s new digital platform is based on several components (Local Mobile Solution, a major Telco Mobile Money as back end solution for Mobile money, and Sopra Banking Amplitude as back end for all financial services related to loans and Savings – including clients, accounts, scoring, credit limit, money transfer, etc.), which replace an older platform.
This 9-month project has successfully enabled KCB to deploy new digital services. Next step will be the roll out of the joint solution to other KCB subsidiaries, and developing and deploying new functionalities and products.
The KCB Mpesa “new and improved” product has been running on this new platform for several months, enabling the Bank to attract new customers and offer new and improved services with high level of performance.
With this major project, SBS (ex-Sopra Banking Software) has demonstrated its capacity to handle a digital project under a tight deadline and with the challenging requirements of a leading financial institution like KCB.
“We are extremely proud of this success. It showcases how SBS (ex-Sopra Banking Software) provides banks with a sustainable edge over their competition,” explains Patrick Navarro, Senior Vice President Middle East & Africa, SBS (ex-Sopra Banking Software).
In order to provide mobile money and inclusive financial services with increasing volume of transactions, KCB was keen to take advantage of the new system. It enabled the Bank to be more efficient and provide a new customer experience.
In the highly competitive Kenyan market, the platform delivers in record time, and under the best conditions thanks to the exemplary collaboration between the various organizations involved.
