April, 2020. EUvsVirus and AfricavsVirus are two hackathons organised by the European Commission and by the European Commission and the African Development Bank

The current situation with COVID19 makes many sectors living a complicated situation. Many initiatives are born to help and support the ones who need it the most. This is a period in which we need to help each other the way that we can, more than ever.

This is the reason why all the entities of Sopra Steria (Sopra Steria, Sopra Banking Software, Sopra HR and Axway) decided to work together and support the EUvsVirus and AfricavsVirus.

EUvsVirus and AfricavsVirus are two hackathons organised by the European Commission and by the European Commission and the African Development Bank

With Sopra Steria, Sopra HR, Axway, Google, Caixa Bank, Standard Bank, AWS, McKinsey and many others, we are proud to support these two amazing initiatives by providing Financial and Software support in one hand, and expertise and people power in another hand.

These hackathons led by the European Commission aim to solve problems around several domains in relation to coronavirus, such as: Health & Life, business continuity, remote working & education, and digital finance.

At the EUvsVirus one (24-26 of April, 2020), all 27 EU Member States are taking part as well as Norway, Israel, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. The winning solutions will be invited to join a European Innovation Council Platform that will facilitate connections with end users (e.g. hospitals) and provide access to investors, foundations and other funding opportunities from across the European Commission.
